Converts physics-based formulations to a format processable by computer. Resolves symbolic formulations, prepares flow charts and block diagrams, and encodes resultant equations for processing by applying extensive knowledge of physics, such as numerical methods and optimization. Designs, implements and enhances complex computer programs for the semiconductor industry. Responsible for building a state-of-the-art framework within which Simucad‚s physics based semiconductor simulation software operates and also a new software product which collects measured data from electronic devices, stores it in a database, and subjects it to numerical optimization. Works with experts in electronic devices, database administrators, and other engineering and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy or feasibility of computer processing, and determines necessity for medications or reruns.

A successful candidate must have the following experience:

• Ph.D. in Physics or Quantum Mechanics plus three years of experience as Senior Software Developer or Senior Software Engineer. In the alternative, will accept a Master's degree in Physics or Quantum Mechanics plus 6 years of experience as a Senior Software Developer or Senior Software Engineer.
• Knowledge of semiconductors or quantum mechanics.
• Knowledge of mathematics.
• Experience in software design, development and implementation, including C/C++ and Fortran.
• Experience in the persistent storage of information using Oracle databases and SQL coupled with Perl and XML for file-based interaction.
