History

Simucad Design Automation was incorporated in the state of Delaware in June 2004 as a spin-off from Silvaco Data Systems, an established private California corporation founded in 1984. Simucad Design Automation acquired ownership of all Silvaco’s simulation and CAD products, technology and intellectual property. Silvaco will remain a private company focusing on TCAD.

Future

The company is planning an IPO in the near future as a means to achieve its mission. Simucad possesses all the strengths to become a successful public company: people, products, worldwide distribution channels, and an established customer base.

Simucad Design Automation has a solid core team of industry-experienced professionals, most with advanced engineering degrees (MS, PhD) in the key technology disciplines of electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and physics.

Distribution Channels

Simucad Design Automation is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, with four direct US sales and support offices in Boston MA, Austin TX, Phoenix AZ, and Santa Clara. International sales and technical engineering support will be handled through Silvaco’s established international distribution network in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore, Britain, Germany and France.

Customer Base

Simucad’s customers include leading foundries, fabless semiconductor companies, integrated device manufacturers, universities, research institutions and IC designers.
